The Perkins football program combined its freshman and JV rosters Saturday afternoon for a home matchup against Clyde, coming away with a 36-18 victory. The Pirates came out with a strong overall effort on both sides of the ball. Lincoln Smith provided a spark defensively with a pick-six, turning an interception into a touchdown and helping Perkins build momentum. Offensively, Darrius helped lead the Pirates' rushing attack, carrying the running game throughout the afternoon. Through the air, JJ Green connected on several deep passes to Fred Taylor and Cayden Adcock, creating explosive plays for the Perkins offense. As the game progressed, the freshman players saw increased opportunities to contribute. The freshmen responded by putting together a well-executed touchdown drive late in the game to cap off a strong team performance. The 36-18 win showcased contributions from both the JV and freshman players and highlighted the depth and development of the Perkins football program.
