CLYDE, Ohio — In a dominant display of early-game fireworks, the Perkins Pirates scored 62 unanswered points across the first two quarters to cruise past the Clyde Fliers, 62-23, on Friday night.  Perkins (291 total yards) efficiency shone brightly on fewer plays, needing only 35 offensive snaps to build their massive lead and average an astounding 8.3 yards per play.  The Pirates set the tone immediately on their opening drive, capping off a short field with a 9-yard touchdown run from JoJo Moore. Moments later, quarterback Grant Kuhnle added a 3-yard rushing score of his own.  The Perkins defense joined the scoring frenzy when Kaden Legando intercepted a Karcen Garner pass and took it 48 yards to the house. Before the opening quarter came to a close, Raji Randleman punched in a 3-yard run, and Kuhnle hooked up with Bryce Davie for a towering 59-yard touchdown strike, building a 35-0 lead after just 12 minutes of play.  Perkins maintained its foot on the gas in the second quarter. Kuhnle threw two more touchdown passes—a 9-yarder to Dante Shipp and a 6-yarder to Davie—finishing an incredibly efficient night through the air (7-for-9, 150 yards, 3 TDs). Randleman added his second rushing touchdown on a 1-yard plunge, and Connor Smith broke free for a 20-yard touchdown run to push the total to 62 points.  Clyde registered its first points on the final play of the half via a safety as time expired, sending the game to halftime at 62-2.  With a running clock and starters resting in the second half, Clyde took advantage to find rhythm on offense. The Fliers put together back-to-back scoring drives in the third quarter, headlined by an 8-yard touchdown run from Linkin Mullins and a 16-yard touchdown pass from Karcen Garner to Hunter Thomas.
