The Perkins varsity volleyball team continued its strong start to the season with a 3-1 victory over Willard, winning 25-23, 21-25, 25-20 and 25-16. The Pirates battled through a competitive second set before responding with strong performances in the final two sets to close out the match. With the victory, Perkins improves to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Junior Brooklyn Cassidy led the Pirates with 17 kills, 20 digs and 3 aces. Sophomore Viera Walker added 14 kills and 12 digs, while sophomore Avisi Gehlot contributed 14 digs and an ace. Junior setter Braelyn Davie orchestrated the Perkins offense with 42 assists while adding 10 digs and 2 aces. The Pirates return home on September 22 to take on Clyde in their next match.
